South Korea to Allow Crypto Sales by Nonprofits and Exchanges From June 1
South Korea’s Financial Services Commission (FSC) has greenlit the legal sale of cryptocurrencies by nonprofit organizations and exchanges effective June 1, 2025. The move aims to enhance market transparency and strengthen anti-money laundering measures while promoting responsible trading practices.
Regulators will restrict transactions to the top 20 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization to mitigate volatility risks. Nonprofits must undergo rigorous audits and establish review committees before liquidating donated digital assets.
